US Army Tan Son Nhut Airbase 50c token

Product Description
Token of the 33rd Air Base Squadron, Tan Son Nhut, Saigon.
Exceptionally rare, this piece dates to early war era, approx 1966 and pre-dates almost all of the US Army Tokens in Vietnam. Saigon's Tan Son Nhut (Nhat) and Bien Hoa airfields were the first base to use tokens in Vietnam.
Tan Son Nhut is now Ho Chi Minh City International Airport with the older Vietnam War era terminal used as the domestic airport.
50 cents - for use in the NCO Club (Non- Commissioned Officers Club).
These coins / tokens were used in lieu of Military Payment certificates (that only came in note form) in Mess halls, Clubs and machines. Highly collectible and with ever increasing values the expectation of value (and in many cases already achieved) in coming years is that they will surpass the value of tokens from POW Camps of WWII.
Please note. I do not grade banknotes or coins as I am not a coin dealer. Please refer to photo.
